More Evidence I'd Never Make It As A Copy Editor

I was rereading the Market Analysis section of my book proposal last night and came across this line: "This is a book my void can fill." I'm going to tell myself I was up late the night I wrote that.

My grandpa called me and said, Wake up. Did you read what Noelle wrote? I said, What? Who? He said, Noelle Hancock. She just posted this thing on her blog about how she’d never make it as a copy editor. It’s great. I said, What? Who? He said, For God’s sake, will you just get up and log on. So I did and I did. I read the post and said, O.K., so what? I mean, you know, it’s cute. But why’d you wake me up for this? He said, It reminded me of that time I said that you could never void the fill your dad left when he passed. Remember that? I did sort of remember that, but before I could say so, I yawned. Grandpa said, Jesus, I’m trying to bond here. I said, I’m trying to sleep here. He said, Why can’t you be more like your father? Better yet, why can't you be more like Noelle? I said, Do you think Noelle’s grandparents would wake her up if I’d written something witty? He said, No, ‘cause you’re incapable of wit. I said, All right. Can I go back to sleep now? He said, Do whatever you want. You’re dead to me.

So anyway, thanks a lot, Noelle.
